“Culture & Design” Salon Hosted to Promote Innovation

On November 13th of 2013, China National Decoration Co., Ltd and School of Government Management of Peking University have jointly hosted a salon themed “culture and design”. The Salon was organized in Liao Kaiyuan Building rich in culture and located in the School of Government Management of Peking University. It is intended to explore and give a position of cultural element in building decoration design, to better reflect cultural connotation and characteristics of times, and to improve life and to beautify environment by means of building decoration, so as to promote innovation and development of building decoration industry through integration of Eastern and Western culture.
Mr. Wu Guoxing, President of Beijing Construction Decoration Association (BCDA), has taken part in the salon. Mr. Wu Xi, Executive President of Designing Committee of BCDA, and Mr. Wan Pengfei, Associate Professor from School of Government Management of Peking, delivered warm speeches. Mr. Luo Yulie, famous philosopher and sinologist, as well as Mr. Li Bingdi, the Secretary of Village Construction Department of Housing and Urban-rural Construction, a professor-level senior town planner, respectively made excellent speeches titled “the Artistic Spirit of Chinese Culture” and “Taking a New Course of Urbanization and Promoting the Integration of Urban and Rural Planning”. Over 30 elites of building decoration enterprises presented at this Salon.
Mr. Hou Yu, Standing Deputy General Manager of China Decoration and the representative of the host party, said in his speech: “In ten years, Chinese building decorative industry will achieve a transition from traditional industry to high-tech industry, and this transition is not only the integration of strength and the reshuffle of industry, but also a contest with “technology innovation” as the key. In this technological innovation of decorative industry, “culture and design” is the cultural and conceptual innovation that is in the most frontier, closest to life, most suitable for people’s pursuit of beauty, conforms to the trend of times, and most forward-looking.”
The Salon ended in a lively cultural atmosphere.
