China Building Decoration Green Design Forum Held in Beijing

----Deputy General Manager of China Decor Xin Jianlin Made a Keynote Speech

The 2009-2010 Top 100 Enterprises for China Building Decoration Green Design and concurrently Green Design Forum jointly sponsored by the China Building Decoration Association, its Design Committee and the magazine of Interior Architecture of China was successfully held in Beijing West International Trade Hotel on May 19, 2011.

At 9:00 a.m. the specially invited moderator Mr. Wu Xi opened the forum, and Xin Jianlin, Deputy General Manager of China Decor, made a keynote speech entitled “Green Design Proposals and Deepened Design” as the first guest speaker of the forum. With two decades’ practical working experience in the industry and in combination with the actual cases of our company in environmental protection, energy saving technologies and concepts in project construction, Mr. Xin interpreted his opinions and thoughts on the international hot issue of green and environmental protection from the perspectives of understanding of green design in project design and implementation of green and environmental protection in deepened design. “Green design is in fact the new highest standard the State has put forward for the industry. To develop, construct and improve this industry is a long process, as its existence is related to the development standards of various industries the whole society and all human beings could see and have contact with. This highest standard of the industry needs unremitting efforts and continuous exploration, research and development of designers in the industry, and also their consistent assumption of the social and industrial responsibilities. We shall keep learning and be brave in making innovations, communicate with and learn from each other, and observe or use new concepts, new technologies, new materials, new equipment, new processes as well as excellent design concepts of developed countries as our sources of reference, so as to contribute our wisdom and design strength to sustainable development of the industry and the country.”

After that, design directors Mr. Daniel Antonio Gess and Mr. Jacob Schwartz Walker from the BAM studio of the USA, Mr. Kenya Hara, a middle-aged world-class Japanese graphic design master and the design director of MUJI, and other distinguished representatives from enterprises in the industry also made enlightening speeches. The elites expressed their own views and presented a face-to-face collision of thoughts.

At the same time, the forum also attracted enthusiastic participation of many designers from both home and abroad. Design elites from the building decoration industry gathered together, centered on the themes of “Green, low carbon, saving energy and environmental protection” and outlined one after another blueprints of green livable dwellings from the perspectives of city and dwelling, society and nature, environmental harmony and coexistence and with their sagacity and inspirations, creativity and imaginations.
