Tour to Singaporean Green Architecture Organized by BCDA.

In response to the instruction sprit of Beijing Municipal Government of constructing “Technological Beijing, Green Beijing” and at the invitation of Singaporean Building and Construction Authority, on August 31st, a delegation of 15 members led by Su Guoyi, the deputy chairman of Beijing Construction Decoration Association went to Singapore to attend International Green Building Conference and made investigations in construction sites of green building. Wu Lie, the party secretary of our company, participated in this exchange activity on behalf of China Decoration.

The 2015 International Green Building Conference was held in Marina Bay Sands Hotel Conference Center with the theme of “Green Building, Intelligent Life” and the aim of discussing together for the solutions to “green” and “intelligent” buildings. Over 1,000 professionals from over 30 countries were attracted for participation. During the same period, many exhibitions took place including Asian Green Building Exhibition, International Heating, Aair-conditioning and Refrigerating Equipment Exhibition and Green Life Exposition facing the public etc.

During the visit, the delegation has joined the related activities of the green building conference, learned about the prospect and trends of world green building, made field visits to Elysee Apartment, Hougang HDB Flats and BEDOK Comprehensive Mansion, paid a visit to Singaporean Building and Construction Authority and exchanged opinions with each other. The delegation listened to the introduction of Singaporean governmental experience in promoting green building and sustainable development and “Environmental Protection, Elegance, Innovative Construction and Outstanding Practice” and visited the demonstration green building projects of Singaporean Building and Construction Authority.

Green building in Singapore is executed on the foundation of governmental support, voluntary enterprises and public supervision. In terms of design, full considerations have been given to environmental protection, urban beautification and actual functions. For construction, the construction and management of green buildings are both people-oriented including surrounding layout, communication with neighboring residents, protection of foreign labor and pedagogical meaning for next generation. Regarding environmental protection, noise is reduced and efficiency is enchanced through industrialized and mechanical construction. The effective prevention and management of waste water and dust ensure the good condition of construction site and surrounding environment.

This visit to Singapore is an important international exchange activity for Beijing Construction Decoration Association to vigorously promote the development of green building decoration in Beijing, stimulate the sustainable development and popularize green building decoration platform. As a member enterprise, China Decoration joined actively different exchange activities. Li Jiefeng, the company chairman, has also initiated and advocated many communication activities as the chairman of Beijing Construction Decoration Association and strives to create learning and communication opportunities for member enterprises. Through field visit this time, we can learn thoroughly Singaporean experience and practice in green buildings. At the end of the visit, both two sides expressed their desire of exchange more in the future and promote friendly cooperation between enterprises of the two countries.
