Chairman Li Inspected Green Buildings in Singapore along wit

Recently, a delegation of 14 people led by Chen Xin (Secretary-General of Construction Committee of China Building Decoration Association (“CBDA”)) and Wu Guoxing (President of Beijing Construction Decoration Association (“BCDA”)) visited Singapore for in-depth communication and inspection of green buildings. Mr. Li Jiefeng (Chairman of China National Decoration Co., Ltd.) and chairmen, general managers, and senior management of other four vice-presidents enterprises of CBDA (i.e. Beijing Qingshang Architectural Ornamental Engineering Co., Ltd., Sino Great Wall Decoration Engineering Co., Ltd., Beijing Sino-Ocean Grand Architectural Decoration Engineering Co., Ltd., and China Arts Construction-Decoration Co., Ltd.) as well as enterprise representatives dedicated to Beijing green building development (including Chairman of Beijing Sumehe Technology Co., Ltd.) joined the delegation.

It’s a key international communication event of the fifth Board of Directors of BCDA for fulfillment of its 2011 working plan and promotion of green building decoration development in Beijing as well as promotion of sustainable development of building decoration and construction of green building decoration platform under cooperation with CBDA.

The delegation met leaders and experts of Singapore Building & Construction Authority (“SBCA”), Singapore Green Building Council (“SGBC”), and Singapore Interior Design Association (“SIDA”) during their visit in Singapore. Particularly, the delegation had an honest discussion and negotiation with SBCA with respect to fulfillment of four objectives as specified in the “Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperative Project between BCDA and SBCA” entered into on March 28, 2011 in Beijing, and a specific plan had been established; issues on joint participation of “Singapore World Green Building Congress 2011” by CBDA and BCDA in September had been settled, and three demonstration projects of green building had been observed and inspected, including zero energy consumption buildings project – the flagship product of SBCA. SBCA also introduced its experience in promotion of green building and sustainable development in a symposium and expressed its support and facilitation in friendly cooperation between Chinese and Singaporean enterprises and welcome for Chinese enterprises to take part in engineering and construction of interior decoration projects in Singapore.

During the communication with SGBC, the delegation attached importance to functions and effects of Singapore Green Building Association (“SGBA”) and particularly focused on rights of SGBC on green material & product certification and specific implementation rules; besides, the intention for communication & cooperation between two associations had been discussed and determined. During the communication with internationally advanced design companies, the delegation paid attention on and learnt approaches and experience of these companies in interior design in compliance with green building standards. In addition, the delegation also visited traditional buildings and landmark buildings of Singapore.

The successful visit and inspection laid a solid foundation for substantial cooperation between CBDA & BCDA and SGBA & other Singaporean departments.

Mr. Li stated that as the vice-president enterprise of CBDA and BCDA and representative in decoration industry, CNDC would make constant innovation in technologies and techniques, and apply and promote green, energy-saving, and environmental-friendly materials and sustainability-oriented design concept and plan during practical building decoration commitment, so as to duly contribute to acceleration of energy saving technology upgrade, construction of "green Beijing”, development of energy-saving buildings and green buildings, and sustainable development of building decoration industry as well as healthy development of low-carbon cities.
